Frontify

Buff recently partnered with Frontify, a leading brand management platform, to create a comprehensive branded motion toolkit. This extensive project, which has been in development for over a year,
is designed to empower marketing teams to produce consistent, on-brand animations with speed, clarity, and creative flexibility.

Frontify's Digital Asset Management (DAM) simplifies brand workflows, enabling marketing teams to deliver engaging experiences globally and rapidly. With this new toolkit, Buff and Frontify are further streamlining the process, allowing brands to maintain a strong, unified visual identity across all animated content.

As Frontify prepared to launch its updated product positioning, the brand-building platform encountered
a common hurdle: the need to rapidly produce high-quality product videos without compromising design integrity or brand clarity. The answer lay in developing
a modular system.

Frontify's marketing and design teams required a scalable method to address video content demands from various departments, including sales, product marketing, and customer success, all without starting from scratch for each request.

In partnership with Buff, their objective was to construct a motion-first toolkit. This toolkit aimed to empower internal creators, uphold brand consistency, and offer flexibility across diverse use cases.

 
 

 
 

 
 

Solution

We kicked off this project by collaborating closely with Frontify's team. Our goal was to explore creative directions and thoroughly stress-test how the system would perform
in real-world situations.

The initial phase focused on aligning on desired outcomes: we defined clear performance goals while exploring visually striking yet technically feasible solutions. These solutions needed to reflect the Frontify brand with clarity and polish.

From typography to transitions, this toolkit dictates how the Frontify brand moves.
It was built in After Effects with in-house usability as a core principle. The toolkit includes:

 

Text and type systems meticulously crafted to ensure optimal legibility, appropriate pacing, and a consistent brand tone.

  1. Structured layouts specifically tailored for seamless integration with platform features such as Digital Asset Management (DAM), templates, and various editor views.

  2. Engaging 2D and 3D idents that effectively frame content and visually demonstrate real-world applications of the brand.

  3. Product flows designed to offer precise, educational details, ensuring users are informed without feeling overwhelmed.

 
 

 
 

 
 

The Impact

Since its launch, this toolkit has empowered teams to work faster while remaining fully aligned with the brand. It's already been instrumental in creating product videos for Frontify's website and social channels, sparking considerable enthusiasm across internal teams.

The increasing demand for the toolkit clearly indicates it's successfully enabling scalable content creation without the need for costly, bespoke production for every request.

This toolkit delivers creative efficiency at scale, adding long-term value with every new use. It's proving that motion can be a foundational part of how brand-led organizations communicate, rather than an afterthought.

The outcome of this collaboration is a system that not only looks like Frontify but also behaves like it.

Crucially, this wasn't a static delivery. We engaged in iterative collaboration with Frontify's brand and creative studio teams. This ensured the toolkit was both future-proof and frictionless.
