Giving Intelligence Form: Bolder’s Motion Narrative for Huma

How Bolder transformed a complex AI platform into a flowing visual narrative through dimensional design, considered movement and a connected graphic language.

Making complex technology feel simple is no easy task. For Huma, a cloud-based operating system for AI, creative studio Bolder developed an animated brand film that brings the platform's capabilities to life through a distinctive visual language built around geometry, depth and motion.

Operating across healthcare, life sciences and government, Huma connects data, software and AI within a single platform.

The challenge was to communicate this sophisticated technology to a broad audience while maintaining clarity, authority and a human sensibility.

Rather than reinventing the brand, Bolder built upon Huma's existing identity, transforming its established graphic elements into a dimensional motion system capable of explaining complex ideas through simple, connected visual sequences.

Making the abstract tangible

At the heart of the film is a visual language that gives abstract technology a physical presence.

Using Huma's existing geometry, typography and restrained colour palette as a foundation, Bolder developed a library of interconnected graphic elements that could work independently or combine to communicate more complex ideas.

Cubes, layered planes and modular structures become visual metaphors for the platform's capabilities. Disconnected data sources organise themselves, separate systems come together and intelligence begins to operate across a shared foundation.

Each composition is carefully constructed to balance technical detail with visual simplicity, allowing the audience to understand the relationships between elements without overwhelming the screen.

Adding a new dimension

Working primarily in After Effects, Bolder combined 2D animation techniques with three-dimensional movement to introduce a richer, more cinematic quality to Huma's visual identity.

Rotating forms, layered perspectives and controlled depth of field give the graphics a sense of physical space, while subtle chromatic separation introduces texture and optical detail.

These treatments aren't simply decorative. Depth becomes a tool for establishing hierarchy, guiding the viewer's attention and revealing information as the narrative unfolds.

The result is a visual system that retains the precision of Huma's existing identity while giving its graphic elements a more tangible, almost architectural presence.

Motion with purpose; movement plays a central role in connecting the film’s different ideas.

Rather than relying on isolated transitions, Bolder developed a consistent motion language in which elements assemble, separate and reconfigure, allowing one concept to flow naturally into the next.

Carefully controlled easing and changes in speed establish a measured rhythm, with unexpected transformations adding moments of character and visual interest.

Behind the scenes, bespoke expressions and precisely considered keyframes determine how individual elements accelerate, settle and respond to one another.

It's this attention to movement that gives the film its distinctive personality. The animation feels deliberate and considered, providing enough energy to maintain engagement while giving each idea the space it needs to be understood.

One connected story: The film brings together animation, typography and narration to create a cohesive introduction to Huma’s platform.

A refined script, delivered through an AI voiceover, guides viewers through the technology and its applications, while on-screen typography reinforces key messages using Huma's established brand style.

Every element works towards the same goal: turning a technically complex proposition into a clear and accessible story.

Bolder's work for Huma demonstrates how motion can do more than bring a visual identity to life. By using movement to establish relationships, communicate structure and guide understanding, the studio has created a film where design and animation become essential parts of the explanation itself.

It's a compelling example of how thoughtful motion design can make even the most abstract technology feel tangible, approachable and distinctly human.

“This was a fascinating brand to work with, and a project with plenty of complexity to explore and understand.

Finding visual clarity and simplicity meant first understanding the sophistication beneath the surface, then refining it into a clean graphic style with a flowing animated appeal and a balance depth.”
