ABOUT

Pentagram is a multi-disciplinary, independently owned design studio.

Its work encompasses graphics and identity, strategy and positioning, products and packaging, exhibitions and installations, websites and digital experiences, advertising and communications, data visualizations and typefaces, as well as sound and motion. Its 24 partners are all practicing designers who work both collaboratively and independently, united by a shared spirit of friendship.

The studio's structure is unique. It is the only major design studio where the owners of the business are also the creators of the work, serving as the primary point of contact for every client. This reflects Pentagram's conviction that great design cannot happen without passion, intelligence and—above all—personal commitment. That philosophy is demonstrated by a portfolio spanning more than five decades, numerous industries, and clients of every size.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Pentagram are hiring a Motion Designer, Emerging Technology to join Natasha Jen's team at Pentagram New York, starting immediately.

This role combines motion design, branding, systems thinking, and emerging technology. They’re looking for someone with strong motion design skills and a solid foundation in graphic design. Someone who enjoys creating distinctive visual forms, motion systems, digital experiences, and is curious about how emerging technologies can expand the possibilities of design.

They value designers who are equally excited by visual culture and emerging technologies and who see both as opportunities for invention. This is a hands-on design role. They’re looking for someone who enjoys making work, experimenting with new tools, and exploring new ways technology can expand creative possibilities.

You'll work directly with Natasha Jen and a small interdisciplinary team on projects ranging from global companies and startups to nonprofit and cultural institutions. Unlike many large agencies, there is no creative-director layer between design development and decision-making.

Designers work directly with Natasha and are expected to contribute meaningfully throughout the process.
